Varsi Art&Lab is pleased to present the residency of Roberto Ciredz. The Sardinian artist’s
screen-print research work alongside 56Fili began in 2015 on the occasion of the exhibition
“Livelli 2nd edition,” hosted in the gallery’s first space, and evolved into the series of works
created for the solo show “Residui” in 2017.
During his residency in our Lab, the suggestions behind the works created in those years are
further investigated and deepened.
Hence, two projects are born. The first one follows the experience of the series
“Mathematical View”; it was born as an extension of the reflection about the complex
relationship that exists between human beings and the rules of nature, whose language is
encoded by geometry. The artist’s goal is to achieve a pictorial result, thus influenced by
human instinct and its randomness, using the strict rules of geometry. Then, composing lines
of colors overlap and blend with each other, creating color shades that elicit a feeling of
visual completeness like that from the light that becomes dim at dawn and dusk.
The pursuit of the research began with the “Ephemeral Volume” series, based on the
superimposition of colors rather than their juxtaposition, resulting in works created to
simulate transparent matter, such as air, mist, water, and moisture. Through the
superimposition of primary colors, Ciredz and 56Fili created a range of colors that, through
repeated overlapping, slowly faded to the neutral point.

Varsi Art&Lab è lieta di presentare la residenza di Roberto Ciredz. Il lavoro di ricerca
serigrafica dell’artista sardo a fianco di 56Fili inizia nel 2015 in occasione della
mostra “Livelli 2nd edition”, ospitata nel primo spazio della galleria e si evolve nelle
opere in serie realizzate per la mostra personale “Residui” del 2017.
Durante la sua residenza nel nostro laboratorio le suggestioni che si celano dietro i
lavori realizzati in quegli anni vengono ulteriormente indagate e approfondite.
Nascono così due progetti. Il primo segue l’esperienza della serie “Veduta
Matematica”; essa nasce come estensione della riflessione circa il complesso
rapporto che esiste tra l’essere umano e le regole della natura, il cui linguaggio è
codificato dalla geometria. Obiettivo dell’artista è quello di ottenere un risultato
pittorico, influenzato quindi dall’istinto umano e dalla sua casualità, utilizzando le
rigide regole della geometria. Sottili e composte linee di colori si sovrappongono e si
fondono tra loro, creando sfumature cromatiche che suscitano una sensazione di
completezza visiva come quella dalla luce che diventa fioca all’alba e al tramonto.
Il proseguimento della ricerca iniziata con la serie “Volume Effimero”, basata sulla
sovrapposizione dei colori, anziché sul loro affiancamento, si traduce in opere create
per simulare la materia trasparente, come l’aria, la foschia, l’acqua, l’umidità.
Attraverso la sovrapposizione di colori primari Ciredz e 56Fili hanno dato vita ad una
gamma di colori che, grazie alle ripetute sovrapposizioni, si sono spenti piano piano
fino ad arrivare al punto neutro.
